See for yourself - Life at Pets and Pats

Given recent harassment from the herald, I feel it is important you see for yourself exactly how we love and care for your pups.  This blog outlines three ways we invite you into our world of woofs.

The reporting has been deeply destressing and exhausting for the team.  We continue to focus on your dogs as they always bring us joy and comfort.

I want to reassure you again your dogs are safe and loved with us.  We have a 15- year unblemished animal welfare record with the SPCA, Animal Management at Council and Work-safe NZ.

We have operated with consents when the large majority have not and we have completed over a million dog visits working with thousands of Auckland families.

The reporting repetitively mentions noise complaints at our old site by a handful of ex neighbours.   Yet the herald never reports that on four separate occasions we were independently noise tested and passed.  They also never state that we have never faced any suggestion of animal welfare concerns.

  1. Videos

I am much more comfortable being with the dogs than on social media and while we post each day, many of you aren’t on social either.

I am putting together a few videos to give you a behind the scenes look at our daily routines, how the dogs travel, how we keep them safe and happy, how and where they spend their time and what our team has to say about their work and your wonderful dogs.

I took this first video last Thursday and it mainly focuses on the vans.  Contrary to some claims our vans are air-conditioned, individually crated and designed to minimise travel times.  Dogs typically spend 4-5 hours at the farm enjoying lots of love, smells, off leash fun and freedom with their friends 2 and 4 legged.  We run multiple bus routes to ensure dogs travel safely and swiftly.  Ironically I breached my resource consent at Dairy Flat because I put on more vans that arrived earlier so dogs had more farm time and less travel time.   If you would like to know your dogs travel times as they all vary depending on where you are in the pick up order, what day and what bus route please reach out.

The herald published a picture of a van we don’t even use.
Please also let me know if there are certain videos you would like me to take.

  1. Open Day – Sunday 16 June 11-2pm

We are proud of the farm, the vans and the team.  We would love to show you around, answer any of your questions and have you meet some of team and other families and dogs.  The team work fulltime Mon-Fri and the vans are on the road and live with them so we have chosen a Sunday.  We hope you can make it and would love to see you there.

  1. Visit Any-time 24/7 365 Days of the Week

We invite you to visit our farm at any time, there is always a carer on site 24/7 for our lodging guests.  We don’t publish our address or have outdoor signage for safety but as current clients you are welcome to visit the farm which is at 757 State Highway 16 Kumeu.  The gate is always locked for safety so please just text me when you arrive on 021 539 699 and I can let the farm manager know to let you in.

Thank you for your ongoing trust and support. We love your dogs and are grateful for the privilege of caring for them.  If you have any questions or concerns please reach out.

Have a great week.
